LSU football is the No. 1 topic of discussion every day on SEC Country’s One Team, One Podcast. Host Carter ‘The Power” Bryant is joined in this episode by SEC Country’s Nick Suss to discuss Ed Orgeron’s coaching disfunction, Matt Canada’s offense going forward, the growing distrust of fans and what the Tigers need to do to rebound against Florida.
Ed Orgeron admits error with Matt Canada
Orgeron’s handling of Canada after LSU’s loss against Troy drew heavy criticism from Bryant. There was no reason for him to dwell on an opening series fumble against a Sun Belt team.
Bryant predicted Orgeron was mixing in his thoughts on Canada’s offense and that the result would be a disaster. It did against Troy, which led to Orgeron saying he will mostly stay out of the way from this point forward.
The trust issues will still be tough to repair says Bryant. The Tigers will need to be more cohesive if they are to win against Florida in the Swamp.
LSU’s players-only meeting
The Tigers held a players-only meeting after their loss against Troy. However, Suss reports LSU has contradicting stories about how the meeting came about and who actually spoke.
LSU finally made a decision at quarterback with Danny Etling. The questions remains if Myles Brennan benefitted from his minimal opportunities.
The Tigers also worked 5-star true freshman JaCoby Stevens with the defensive backs as their depth dwindles. Stevens was initially envisioned as a safety, but was then moved to receiver before the season.
Suss is baffled at how the Tigers are falling apart at the seams. It’s going to take clear direction from Orgeron to get it fixed.
Drunk cajun pasta
In this week’s “Sussisms”, he dives into detail about a drunk Troy fan passing out into his cajun pasta while the other lectured he and his colleagues on politics. Enjoy Bryant’s breakdown of the situation.
