LSU football podcast: Ed Orgeron poured gas on Troy dumpster fire by calling out Matt Canada

LSU football is the No. 1 topic of discussion every day on SEC Country’s  One Team, One Podcast. Host  Carter ‘The Power” Bryant is joined in this episode by SEC Country’s  Alex Hickey to discuss LSU’s historically awful upset of Troy, why head coach Ed Orgeron might regret calling out offensive coordinator Matt Canada and what the Tigers need to do to get ready for Florida.

Ed Orgeron will regret Matt Canada comments

LSU’s upset over Troy will never be forgotten. The Tigers paid the Trojans $985,000 to get beat on homecoming, which has easily been the SEC’s most embarrassing defeat in 2017.

Orgeron has received a majority of the blame, and rightfully so. The Tigers have looked mediocre in three straight games. Listen to him in the post-game presser make things even worse by calling out offensive coordinator Matt Canada for play-calling.

Bryant says Orgeron, who has no offensive background, made a massive error by indirectly calling out his million-dollar offensive coordinator. This will only increase trust issues and disfunction within the program.

LSU’s trenches are weak

The Tigers are getting pushed around up front on both sides of the ball. Sure, LSU’s youthful fronts have played experienced teams. However, higher recruited athletes should not be getting manhandled.

Hickey says the problems up front begin with Orgeron. His expertise is line play and physicality. The Tigers will not win many games if they continue to get dominated at the line of scrimmage.

Program disfunction after Troy

Hickey discusses why LSU should not trust athletic director Joe Alleva to make another major coaching hire. Also, he goes into the possibility of firing Orgeron.

Ludacris meeting ruined

Bryant met one of his musical idols Ludacris. It’s hard to live with the joy of shaking hands of a hero when you are constantly reminded by opposing fans the institution you graduated from embarrassed the entire conference.
