Geor’Quarius Spivey has narrowed his college options down to three and is preparing to give a commitment by the end of the week.
Spivey, a 3-star tight end prospect from Richwood (La.) High School in North Louisiana, has named LSU, TCU and Mississippi State as his finalists. He will commit to one of those schools on Friday, Oct. 6.
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound Spivey put on a tear this summer as he attended prospect camps in Baton Rouge, Starkville and Fort Worth. LSU extended an offer to the state’s No. 33-ranked prospect in June during the skill position prospect camp in early June.
Spivey was in attendance for LSU’s home opener against Chattanooga in the beginning of September. He also attended State’s home victory against the Tigers the following week.
The Tigers currently hold a commitment from Florida H-back Zach Sheffer and have made 3-star New Orleans tight end Glenn Beal a priority in the Class of 2018 recruiting class. However, tight ends coach Steve Ensminger and coach Ed Orgeron have remained in contact with Spivey through the early portion of the fall.
Spivey’s most recent unofficial visit was to Mississippi State, which has since dialed up the pressure on the 3-star Monroe, La., native.
