Marcus Allen and Saquon Barkley were both leaders on the field for Penn State last year, serving as captains and role models for younger players.
Now, with Barkley set to be a father and a role model once again, Allen has earned himself another title as a role model as well.
The former star running back for the Nittany Lions, has named the former star safety the godfather of his baby he is set to have with girlfriend Anna Congdon next month.
“I’m going to be his godfather,” Allen told reporters including the CDT’s John McGonigal at Penn State football Pro Day on Tuesday. “So we good.”
He also said that Barkley will be a “great father” and said the pressures the running back faces are just life.
“That’s something that we all experience,” Allen said. “Saquon’s going to take great care of that baby. And I’m going to take great care of that baby, as well. ‘Cause I’m the godfather.”
