Marvin Bagley III returning to Duke lineup against Syracuse on Saturday

After missing the last four games, Marvin Bagley III will return to the Duke Blue Devils starting lineup on Saturday against the Syracuse Orange at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

WRALSportsFan.com reported on Saturday morning that Bagley had recovered enough from a mild knee sprain to return after over two weeks on the shelf.

The Blue Devils found their groove without the superstar freshman, winning all four of the games that they played and making the switch to running primarily zone on defense. That shift along with moving Grayson Allen into more of a distributing role has resulted in an average margin of victory of 17 points per game with Bagley out.

With Bagley returning, he figures to slot into the middle of their zone and gives Allen a dynamic post presence to run offense through. So Duke should have an opportunity to finish their season on a high note and contend for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament with the home tilt against Syracuse, a trip to Virginia Tech and then North Carolian at home to finish the season.

Despite missing the four games, Bagley still leads the ACC in double-doubles on the season and is averaging 21.2 points and 11.4 rebounds per game on the season. Duke was 19-5 with Bagley in the lineup but had lost three of their last four prior to his injury late in the loss to North Carolina.
