Miami recruiting junior day 2018: Who will be on campus for key visit date?

The biggest Miami recruiting date of the spring is on the horizon. The Hurricanes are bringing in dozens of elite prospects on Saturday for an invite-only junior day. Recruits will get a chance to watch the Hurricanes practice and get a tour of campus and the football facilities.

The list could change between now and the start of the visit, but consider this a guide to who are some of the most important players set to attend.

WR Frank Ladson, 5 stars, South Dade (Homestead, Fla.)

The only 5-star prospect expected to be on campus, Ladson will be a tough one for the Hurricanes to pull with Clemson, Georgia and Auburn all involved. Getting him around some of South Florida’s best will be important for Miami’s pitch to the local pass catcher.

ATH Mark-Antony Richards, 4 stars, Wellington (Fla.)

ATH Josh Sanguinetti, 4 stars, NSU University (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.)

Sanguinetti insists he’ll wait until National Signing Day in February to make a decision. If this is a battle between the Hurricanes and Stanford as it seems to be shaping up as, Miami might have a chance to reel him in sooner than planned. The 4-star athlete, who plays both wide receiver and cornerback, has already visited the Cardinal multiple times. The Hurricanes are recruiting the 6-foot-2, 170-pound standout as a defensive back.

DT Jaquaze Sorrells, 4 stars, Largo (Fla.)

This will be Sorrells’ first trip to Miami and should provide a good indication of how serious he is about the Hurricanes. Miami offered the 6-3, 270-pound defensive lineman in December and Sorrells immediately said the Hurricanes are one of his top choices.

WR Jeremiah Payton, 4 stars, Duncan U. Fletcher (Neptune Beach, Fla.)*

CB Tyrique Stevenson, 4 stars, South Dade

RB Kenny McIntosh, 4 stars, NSU University

WR John Dunmore, 4 stars, Chaminade-Madonna College Prep (Hollywood, Fla.)

TE Keon Zipperer, 4 stars, Lakeland (Fla.)

OLB Kevin Harris, 4 stars, Grayson (Loganville, Ga.)

Harris named Miami to his top 3 on Tuesday and this will be his first time on campus. The 6-4, 205-pound edge rusher is the first player Jess Simpson has pinpointed and the defensive line coach’s Georgia ties are a major appeal. Alabama and LSU are also in his top 3.

G Dontae Lucas, 4 stars, IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)

OLB Ge’mon Eaford, 4 stars, Deerfield Beach (Fla.)

OLB Anthony Solomon, 4 stars, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale)

DE Lloyd Summerall, 4 stars, Auburndale (Fla.)

CB Jaden Davis, 4 stars, St. Thomas Aquinas

The battle for Davis will be tough, so any chance for the Hurricanes to get the 4-star cornerback on campus is key. With official visits to Oklahoma and Ohio State looming, Davis probably won’t make a decision until later this summer, but Miami will have a chance to jump ahead of Florida this weekend.

S Keontra Smith, 4 stars, Chaminade-Madonna College Prep

A Kentucky commit, Smith will visit for the first time since the Hurricanes offered Feb. 16. The 6-1, 195-pound strong safety most recently made it to campus Jan. 15. He  called Miami’s offer a “game-changer” despite his pledge to the Wildcats.

DE Mike Morris, 4 stars, American Heritage (Delray Beach, Fla.)

A Florida State commit, Morris will be visiting the Hurricanes for the second time in less than a month. The strongside defensive end has been committed to the Seminoles for more than a year. The 6-7, 265-pound Morris planned to work as a tight end at the Under Armour All-America Camp on Sunday in Coconut Creek, Fla.

DE Braylen Ingraham, 4 stars, St. Thomas Aquinas

DT Tyler Davis, 4 stars, Wekiva (Apopka, Fla.)

T Michael Tarquin, 4 stars, Belleview (Fla.)

CB John Dixon, 4 stars, Chamberlain (Tampa, Fla.)

Dixon is part of a recent rash of in-state defensive backs to earn Miami offers. The Hurricanes offered the 6-foot, 170-pound Dixon on Feb. 21, and this will be the first time getting him on campus. Dixon is also high on South Carolina, Alabama and Ohio State.

ATH Te’Cory Couch, 4 stars, Chaminade-Madonna College Prep

A soft commit to Tennessee, Couch will visit for the first time since Miami offered Feb. 16. The 4-star athlete most recently visited Jan. 15. Couch, who plays both cornerback and wide receiver, recently named a new top 2 of Miami and Michigan. Schools are recruiting the 6-1, 171-pound Couch as a defensive back.

S Jordan Battle, 4 stars, St. Thomas Aquinas

CB Renardo Green, 3 stars, Wekiva

The 3-star cornerback is making his first trip to campus after the Hurricanes offered Jan. 18. The 5-11, 170-pound athlete is high on Miami right now, in addition to Florida and Kentucky. He previously expressed interest in committing by the end of the spring. The Hurricanes should be able to reel him in if they push.

DE Jahfari Harvey, 3 stars, Vero Beach (Fla.)

Miami is the biggest offer yet for Harvey, which means the 3-star weakside defensive end could potentially be on commitment watch if all goes well on both ends. Defensive coordinator Manny Diaz, who also serves as the Hurricanes’ linebackers coach, is heading up the 6-3, 215-pound Harvey’s recruitment. This will be his first trip to campus after picking up an offer Jan. 29.

DT Denzel Daxon, 3 stars, Doral (Fla.) Academy Prep*

DE Cameron Williams, 3 stars, Chaminade-Madonna College Prep*

DE Rian Davis, 3 stars, Wekiva

Davis is one of the fastest-rising stars on the recruiting trail. The 3-star weakside defensive end once seemed particularly high on Miami and Saturday could be a chance for the Hurricanes to establish themselves. This is the first time the 6-3, 230-pound defensive end will visit after Miami offered Jan. 18. Clemson, Louisville, Houston and the Bulldogs are all in the mix for the rising senior, who could also play middle linebacker for the Hurricanes.

OLB Jahmar Brown, 3 stars, St. Thomas Aquinas

TE Larry Hodges, 3 stars, Jesuit (Tampa)*

ATH Kenny Logan, 3 stars, Pedro Menendez (St. Augustine, Fla.)

Logan might be on closer commit watch than anyone else visiting this weekend. Miami is the biggest offer for the 3-star athlete from the Jacksonville metropolitan area and Saturday will mark his second visit in less than a month. The 6-foot, 180-pound Menendez plays running back, wide receiver and safety, and the Hurricanes are recruiting him as a defensive back.

OLB Jesiah Pierre, 3 stars, Christian Home & Bible (Mount Dora, Fla.)*

G Kingsley Eguakun, 3 stars, Atlantic Coast (Jacksonville)*

OLB Samuel Brooks, 3 stars, Miami Northwestern Senior*

(* — Miami commit)
