Leading storylines heading into Michigan spring practice
Angelique S. Chengelis of The Detroit News breaks down the biggest Wolverines storylines heading into spring practice, which starts Friday. QB Cade McNamara adds to 2019 class
Land of 10’s Kevin Goheen explains what quarterback Cade McNamara brings to the 2019 class. McNamara is a 4-star quarterback from Reno, Nev., who became the sixth player to commit to Michigan in the 2019 class and is ranked as the No. 9 pro-style passer in the country by the 247Sports composite.
OL starting jobs up for grabs
Goheen argues that the addition of offensive line coach Ed Warinner means that starting jobs and significant reserve roles on the offensive line are going to be up for grabs during Wolverines’ spring practice. Michigan allowed 36 sacks last season and struggled in short-yardage and third-down situations.
Jalen Rose thinks Michigan has ‘something special’
Former Michigan player Jalen Rose said he was “as enthusiastic as I’ve been about an individual play in about a decade,” referring to Michigan’s last-second win over Houston in the second-round West Regional game in Wichita, Kan. He likes his alma mater’s chances against the Texas A&M Aggies on Thursday night in the Sweet 16 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
