Michigan CB Nate Johnson reportedly arrested following alleged assault of female student

Michigan CB Nate Johnson was arrested on campus after an alleged assault on Saturday, a University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security spokesperson told MLive on Monday.

Spokeswoman Diane Brown told MLive that Johnson was arrested early on Saturday morning and charged with one count of domestic assault for what MLive called “an attack on a female student.” The alleged attack is believed to have occurred in the victim’s dorm room.

Michigan football announced Saturday that Johnson had been “suspended indefinitely from all team activities” in a team release. The sophomore switched from wide receiver to cornerback after his freshman season, and has not recorded any stats yet in 2017. Johnson had 1 reception for 4 yards as a freshman in 2016.

Michigan is coming off a 28-10 win at Purdue on Sept. 23. The Wolverines are back in action on Saturday at home against Michigan State at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

Johnson has a pre-trial date set for Oct. 11, according to MLive.
