Michigan football has suspended Nate Johnson, the school announced Saturday in a release.

Johnson has not recorded any stats yet in 2017, and was previously a wide receiver before switching to defense prior to this season. The school did not provide a reason for his suspension.

“Yeah, Nate Johnson, he’s going back and forth,” sophomore corner Lavert Hill told the Detroit Free Press¬†August. “He’s a great athlete. So they move him around (a bit).”

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Johnson is in his sophomore year with the Wolverines, and made one reception for 4 yards as a freshman. He committed to Michigan as a 3-star receiver recruit in the Class of 2016 out of Thompson’s Station, Tenn.

Michigan is on its bye week after a 18-10 win over Purdue last Saturday. The Wolverines will be back in action on Oct. 7 at home against Michigan State at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.

Here’s the release from Michigan in full:

Student Nate Johnson has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities.
