Welcome to More Cowbell, SEC Country’s daily podcast about Mississippi State sports with host Brandon Walker.
The bye week has arrived, and with it, Mississippi State’s football team has a chance to regroup after a pair of humbling losses at Auburn and at Georgia. We turned to guest Matt Wyatt to get his viewpoint on MSU’s season going forward, as he talked about Nick Fitzgerald, MSU’s wide receivers and answered two-minute drill questions from fans.
Quarterback Nick Fitzgerald labored through the last two games with minimal help from MSU’s wide receivers. Wyatt, a former quarterback at MSU from 1996-1999, shares his thoughts on the challenges Fitzgerald has faced and gives his opinion on how MSU can make things easier at receiver. Wyatt also ranks his favorite Golden Girls, talks about his favorite bass fishing spot and lists his favorite Tom Petty songs.
Elsewhere, host Brandon Walker hands out his awards for the first month of the season, and the awards are anything but typical.
