Nebraska senior DB Chris Jones strongly hinted at a return in an emotional tweet Sunday.
Jones, who in injury injured his knee in July and had surgery to repair his left meniscus. Last week, Jones was at Huskers
practice on Tuesday, wearing a helmet with no pads.
“Just when things seemed impossible, I went into prayer and God said watch me make that impossible, possible,”
Jones wrote on Twitter. “God thank you #IMBACK.”
It’s not clear whether Jones means he’ll be practicing in pads or if a return to game action is approaching.
The Huskers have a big game this week, as top-10 Wisconsin
visits for an 8 p.m. ET game on Saturday, Oct. 7.

“It’s great to see Chris feeling better and doing well and be engaged with the team,” Diaco said. “Like everybody knew,
he’s one of the best players in the league, one of the best players at his position in the country, so to be without him,
everyone’s rallied and circled the wagons, but it sure is nice to see him more engaged.”
Last season, Jones started all 13 games, making 37 total tackles with 10 passes broken up, 3 interceptions, 3 tackles for
loss and 1 sack.
After Jones returned to the practice field in a helmet, he later tweeted out his thanks to Nebraska fans for their support.

my brothers again,” Jones tweeted.
