Nebraska football now 2-0 in Big Ten play; Blackshirts try to keep mojo going

Nebraska-Huskers-Nebraska football

Nebraska football is the No. 1 topic in Big Red Rising every day — but we cover news, notes and analysis from across Huskers sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Huskers football, recruiting, basketball and more.

Nebraska 2-0 in Big Ten play

Nebraska’s 28-6 win over Illinois was one the Huskers can really build on going forward. As for what was learned? There was plenty, but we broke it down to three specific things.

And wasn’t it fun to watch the Blackshirts put it together again? Coach Mike Riley though so at least, calling it Nebraska’s “most complete game” of the season so far.

Keeping the mojo going

The Blackshirts stepped up against Illinois, which was great to see. Can defensive coordinator Bob Diaco and his crew keep the good mojo going? The answer may determine where the Huskers head for a bowl game.

The return of Chris Jones?

Could Nebraska cornerback Chris Jones return to the football field soon? From his social media accounts, it looks like it could happen sooner rather than later.

Get hyped for the Badgers

Ready for Nebraska’s matchup with Wisconsin on Saturday night? Riley is, and he shared a video the Huskers made to get things going.

Stuck at No. 12

The Huskers landed at No. 12 once again in the latest Land of 10 Power Poll. It’s hard to move forward when the two Big Ten wins are over the only two teams lower, but Nebraska will have a shot to jump ahead against Wisconsin on Saturday night in Memorial Stadium.

The rumors continue

Nebraska already has a coach, but that hasn’t stopped the Scott Frost as the Huskers future head coach rumors from flying. The former Huskers quarterback has coached the University of Central Florida to a 3-0 start this season.
