If you thought that the Texas Tech Red Raiders would be satisfied with a close game, you’re wrong.
According to Don Williams of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, not everyone in Lubbock is okay with just keeping it close.
Nic Shimonek obviously PO'ed. "We're not here to compete with people. We're here to win football games."

Nic Shimonek said, “We’re not here to compete with people. We’re here to win football games.”
That’s the kind of stuff you want to hear out of your team leader, especially after yet another close loss.
The Red Raiders had chances to win tonight, but they had some luck on their side too. A bobbled onside kick turned into a touchdown, a very bad Mason Rudolph pass turned into a pick six.
Texas Tech is clearly better on the defensive side of the ball, and it might be just enough to get the Red Raiders back into a bowl game. They played admirably against one of the most explosive offenses in the nation on Saturday, and have nothing to be ashamed of.
