Nick Saban has a ridiculously strong record against next 6 SEC coaches on Alabama’s schedule

Nick Saban’s record against a bunch of coaches while at Alabama is strong. But he has shown a particular mastery against the next six SEC coaches on the Crimson Tide’s schedule.

On Tuesday, Paul Finebaum’s Twitter account relayed a cool stat: While at Alabama, Saban is 25-2 against Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin (4-1), Arkansas coach Bret Bielema (4-0), Tennessee coach Butch Jones (4-0), LSU coach Ed Orgeron (2-0), Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen (8-0) and Auburn coach Gus Malzahn (3-1). (Sumlin’s win happened in 2012, and Malzahn’s victory occurred in 2013.)

Crazy, right?

So impressive.

Yes, it’s good to be an Alabama fan these days. The Crimson Tide are 5-0, and they look well on their way to competing for another SEC title. Auburn and maybe Georgia look to be the only teams within the SEC that can put up more than weak resistance between now and the College Football Playoff.

Anything is possible. But if recent history is any guide, Saban should find a way to foil the coaches left on Alabama’s schedule.
