Luke Del Rio’s season is over due to a left collarbone injury sustained in Florida’s win vs. Vanderbilt but the quarterback is remaining in high spirits. That positive mentality is reinforced by Del Rio’s father, Oakland Raiders coach Jack Del Rio.
A day after the Florida quarterback sustained the injury, he used Twitter to say that “I’m not going to let my circumstances change who I am.”
The elder Del Rio responded on Twitter by offering some words of encouragement for his son, as the redshirt junior begins the road to recovery.

Luke Del Rio went 16-for-25 for 138 yards with a touchdown and interception this season.
The injuries have mounted up for Luke Del Rio. He started six games last season before being sidelined with a season-ending injury to his right shoulder. He additionally partially tore the medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
The Raiders are in a quarterback injury situation as well, though not season ending, as Derek Carr is out 2-6 weeks with a fractured back.
Florida will now turn to Feleipe Franks as the starting quarterback.
Florida hosts LSU at 3:30 p.m. ET next Saturday.
