Ohio State women’s basketball falls to Central Michigan in NCAA Tournament

Ohio State women’s basketball saw its season come to a surprising close Monday night in the second round of t he 2018 NCAA Tournament. The Buckeyes got blown out, 95-78, by 11th-seeded Central Michigan at St. John Arena.

Monday night’s loss marked the end of Kelsey Mitchell’s college career. Mitchell, the Big Ten’s All-Time leading scorer, had 28 points against Central Michigan and provided a bright spot in the loss, becoming the second place all-time leading scorer in NCAA history.

Mitchell passed Jackie Stiles of Missouri State and finishes her career with 3,402 points, trailing only Kelsey Plum of Washington, who has 3,527 points.

Filling her shoes will be Stephanie Mavunga, who had 16 points, while Linnae Harper had 14.
