Oklahoma fans’ frustration continues after Sooners’ skid hits 3 games

Whether it was some Hilton Magic, a lackluster performance, or perhaps a little bit of both, Oklahoma men’s basketball fell short once again on Saturday in a 88-80 loss at Iowa State.

The Sooners endured a 45-35 halftime deficit. The team managed to tie the game at 71 apiece within the final five minutes of play, but couldn’t muster enough effort to overcome the first half hole that it dug. It marked the first time all season that Oklahoma had lost three games in a row.

Sooners fans were quick to express their frustration after seeing their team finish the week winless. Oklahoma has fallen from as high as No. 4 in the AP Top 25 rankings to No. 17, and seems certain to dip even further when the latest poll is released on Monday.

Here’s what fans on social media had to say following the loss to the Cyclones.

The Sooners have now dropped six of their last eight games — including two to unranked opponents in the current three-game skid. ESPN’s most recent bracketology had Oklahoma projected to be a No. 5 seed in the 2018 NCAA Tournament.

With another loss, the Sooners are now desperate to find some momentum as the home stretch of the regular season continues.
