The Sooners are 16-8 overall and 6-6 in conference play. They also have the nation’s best player in Young, who is averaging 29.5 points per game, and dominating headlines at a national level.
The season doesn’t end today, and the Sooners will have more chances to improve their ranking. However, it’s clear that the selection committee favors the Sooners over others with similar or even slightly better records.
