For the first time in program history, Oklahoma State men’s basketball has defeated a top-20 opponent in consecutive road games.
The Cowboys took down No. 19 West Virginia in Morgantown, W.Va. on Saturday in an 88-85 win — exactly one week after stunning then-No. 7 Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kan.
In-between those wins, however, came, a disappointing home loss to Baylor. It was the first time all-season that the Bears had won away from Ferrell Center in Waco, Texas.
First-year Oklahoma State coach Mike Boynton, in a radio interview following the win over the Mountaineers, said the Cowboys fans deserved to see a gritty performance from the team after the slip-up in Stillwater earlier in the week.
“We owe our fans a performance like this,” Boynton said in the interview.

Oklahoma State is now 15-10 and 5-7 in Big 12 play. The Cowboys’ NCAA Tournaments hopes took a hit with the home loss to Baylor, but the upset on Saturday could put Oklahoma State back on the bubble. The Cowboys also own a home-win over Oklahoma, who was ranked No. 4 at the time in the AP Top 25 poll.
