Next season, the Oklahoma State Cowboys could struggle to find a couple of those wins that came so easily in 2017.
According to the 2017 win/loss record of the teams on the Cowboys’ 2018 schedule, Oklahoma State has the lowest strength of schedule in the Big 12 Conference.
Oklahoma State is No. 82 out of 130 teams, so all is not lost, nor is this an all-encompassing, perfect method of prediction. However, if preseason trends hold, the Cowboys are looking at a couple easier wins, maybe a little less respect on the national level.
Oklahoma State will open the 2018 season on September 1 at home against Missouri State. Next, they’ll host South Alabama, and likely snag two easy wins from those teams. Then, it’s a third straight home game for the Cowboys, as they’ll host Boise State.
In 2017, Missouri State went 3-8, South Alabama went 4-8, and Boise State went 11-3. The Broncos of Boise State, famous for upsetting Power 5 teams, will be the inarguable toughest opponent of the pre-conference schedule for the Cowboys.
