Former Oregon superstar Dillon Brooks, who was drafted and plays for the Memphis Grizzlies, is nearing an NBA milestone for former Ducks.
As 247sports points out, Brooks is on pace to become the first rookie from Oregon since 1977 to average double-figure scoring numbers.
The 2016-17 Pac-12 Player of the Year has carried over his success to the pro ranks. Former Oregon forward and current Memphis Grizzly Dillon Brooks is currently on pace to become the first Duck rookie to average double-figures in the NBA since Ron Lee accomplished the feat in 1977.
Brooks has started 63 of 71 games this season and is currently averaging 10.3 points per game. He ranks 11th among NBA rookies in scoring — and has the most of any second round pick.
Ironically, Lee is Oregon’s all-time leading scorer.
Brooks recently posted a season-high 29 points against the Bulls on March 7.
