Pistol Pete dares Texas Tech fans to throw quesadillas at him during game

Oklahoma State’s mascot Pistol Pete isn’t afraid of Texas Tech fans throwing food at him this week. In fact, he welcomes it.

Red Raider fans have a tradition of throwing tortillas onto the field during home games. Occasionally those tortillas will hit players or mascots. But Pistol Pete doesn’t mind. He’s actually encouraging Texas Tech fans to take it a step further.

Texas Tech fans cooking quesadillas and bringing them into Jones AT&T Stadium just to throw at a mascot would be impressive. The mascot actually trying to eat them would be even more impressive.

It’s not the first bit of banter about game day traditions before this year’s Oklahoma State-Texas Tech game. The matchup has also re-introduced the “Guns Up” vs. “Pistols Firing” controversy.

The Cowboys will take the field against the Red Raiders in Lubbock at 7 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on FOX.
