Report: Alabama player receives medical redshirt after torn ACL last season

Alabama football-Miller Forristall-Nick Saban-injury-medical redshirt

Alabama didn’t have a prominent tight end last season like O.J. Howard in years prior.

Miller Forristall was a name who could contribute last year in fall camp, but fell to third on the depth chart behind Hale Hentages. His season ended early when he tore his ACL against Colorado State.

It now appears he didn’t lose any eligibility even though he played last season. He got his medical redshirt, according to Matt Zenitz of Al.com.

A third-year Alabama player has gained another season of eligibility.

Tight end Miller Forristall has received a medical redshirt after missing most of last season due to a knee injury, AL.com has confirmed.

Instead of being a junior this season, the Georgia native will be a redshirt sophomore.

Forristall fill certainly be able to provide some depth after catching just one pass for 12 yards last season.

He’ll have to jump Hale Hentges for more playing time. Hentges had 7 catches for 75 yards and 3 touchdowns last season.
