Report: Johnny Manziel to throw to receivers at University of San Diego pro day

Johnny Manziel has been on a comeback tour over the last couple months, and now NFL teams will get to watch him throw for the first time since 2015.

Manziel will reportedly throw to receivers at the University of San Diego’s pro day on Thursday morning. That’s according to college football insider Bruce Feldman.

This is a rather big development in Manziel’s attempt to play pro football again this season — whether in the NFL or elsewhere.

The last time Manziel threw publicly was nearly 2.5 years ago when he led the Browns to a 2-4 record as their starter. He completed 58 percent of his passes, throwing for 1,500 yards and 7 touchdowns. He also threw five interceptions and ran the ball 37 times for 230 yards.

Manziel has opened up about mental issues that bounced him from the NFL in 2015 over the last few months.

“I felt like the end of the world was near and that I would never make it out,” Manziel told TMZ in February. “As dark as it gets, eventually times will get better.”
