Derrius Guice’s 2017 season has not gone as planned. The reigning first-team all-SEC running back has been slowed by injuries, which has largely derailed what many thought could be a potential Heisman-like season.
Unfortunately, it does not look as if Saturday will bring about a change in Guice’s luck. According to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate, while Guice is dressed out for LSU’s matchup against Troy, the star tailback is not expected to play:
Significant news: Derrius Guice is dressed out, but "not expected to play," per #LSU sideline reporter Gordy Rush.

Guice’s 2017 statistics are a far cry from where they were in his first two years on campus. While he’s still been productive, he is averaging “only” 4.8 yards per carry. In 2016, he averaged 7.6 yards. It is unclear at this time exactly what type of injury is preventing Guice from seeing the field on Saturday
