Texas Tech offensive coordinator Eric Morris and former Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell could potentially find themselves even deeper into West Texas.
According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, both Morris and Harrell have been listed as early candidates to fill the head coaching vacancy at Texas-El Paso. UTEP head coach Sean Kugler resigned on Sunday after an 0-5 start to the season.
Morris played at Texas Tech from 2004-2007. He has been on the Red Raiders coaching staff since 2013.
Harrell, the former Heisman Trophy-finalist quarterback who played alongside Morris at Texas Tech, is in his second season as offensive coordinator at North Texas.
A total of nine candidates were mentioned in the report from Rittenberg. Neither Morris or Harrell have had head coaching experience.
