Iowa football is always the main topic in Iowa Breakfast Club, Land of 10’s daily Hawkeyes notebook — but we cover news, notes and analysis across Hawkeyes sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Iowa football, recruiting, basketball and more.

Running down a dream

The Hawkeyes need to revive their running game and running back Akrum Wadley in particular. Land of 10 proposed three ways to do it on Tuesday.

I need to know

Illinois is far from the perfect opponent for Iowa right now. Any progress the team makes on Saturday could very well be fools’ gold. Land of 10 tells why the state of the Fighting Illini means the Hawkeyes will be waiting until after the bye week to see how much improvement it makes coming out of consecutive losses to No. 4 Penn State and Michigan State.

Don’t do me like that

The Iowa football program requires its players to play complementary football. It has not happening during the two-game losing streak. Rob Howe of explains what is missing and why the three phases of the Hawkeyes program have failed to complement each other.

The waiting

Safety Brandon Snyder is on a fast track to return to the lineup. He suffered a torn left ACL in April. Doctors cleared him to play last week. It looks like he will face Illinois on Saturday (12 pm, ET, BTN).

I won’t back down

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz knows what he wants from his football. He also knows what he didn’t get from the Hawkeyes last week. Marc Morehouse of the Cedar Raids Gazette breaks down what Ferentz said in his press conference on Tuesday and what it all means.

Don’t do me like that

The Hawkeyes are 0-2 in Big Ten play. They can’t go 0-3. Mark Emmert of the Des Moines Register takes a look at Iowa losing its focus against Michigan State and how it needs to regain it this week.

You wreck me

Mike Hlas of the Cedar Rapids Gazette wrote 20 fun facts for the Illinois-Iowa contest. The best one involves former Illinois fullback Howard Griffith, a punch and an ejection.

I will run to you

Bleacher Report likes Akrum Wadley as a NFL draft prospect. It really likes Wadley as a draft prospect. The website is comparing him to Kareem Hunt of the Kansas City Chiefs, the breakout rookie running back of this NFL season.
