Ryan Hilinski, one of the top targets for the 2018 South Carolina recruiting class, will be back in Columbia later this month.
According to an interview with Phil Kornblut of SportsTalkSC, Hilinski plans to arrive Friday, March 30 and stay through the following day for South Carolina’s spring game.
A pair of Gamecock coaches are in regular contact with the No. 8-ranked pro-style quarterback (247Sports composite) in the Class of 2018, who was on campus last month.
“I talk to [quarterbacks] coach [Dan] Werner a lot. Coach [Will] Muschamp texts me and my parents daily,” Hilinski said. “They are just great guys and they really care about me as a person rather than a football player. Of course, that’s a big part of it. They just want to make sure I’m doing good.”
The 6-foot-3.5, 218-pound quarterback from Orange, Calif. will also visit Ole Miss and Georgia in April, to see two more spring games. He visited both schools while touring the southeast earlier this year.
Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State and Oregon are also in the mix for Hilinski, who’s ranked as the No. 307 overall prospect in the country.
Over two seasons at Orange Lutheran, Hilinski has completed 418 of 650 passes for 5,331 yards with 45 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
