Multiple major college basketball players and programs were implicated in a Yahoo Sports report Friday that showed documents and bank statements that are part of an FBI probe. With some teams left wondering if the NCAA could issue punishments before March Madness, there have also been a few stories from former players about how cautious their college coaches were about committing violations.
One of the best came from ex-Michigan guard Spike Albrecht.
On Twitter, Albrecht — who played with Michigan from 2012-2016 before graduate transferring to Purdue — said that when he was once dining with John Beilein, the Michigan coach would not let him order beer-battered tiramisu because Albrecht was not yet 21.
Coach Beilein wouldn’t let me order Tiramisu for dessert on my official visit because it was beer battered and I was only 19 lol

Michigan was not implicated in any way by the Yahoo report. Beilein is in his 11th season with the Wolverines and is about to head to his eighth NCAA Tournament with the program.
In a separate college basketball scandal, Louisville had its 2013 national title, which the team won against Michigan, vacated earlier in the week. But claiming the 2013 title as their own is not something the Wolverines are going to do, Beilein told reporters.
