Marquez Beason is one of the nation’s top 2019 targets and on Saturday, he trimmed his lengthy list of collegiate options to just six finalists.
Lincoln Riley’s Oklahoma Sooners survived the cut, along with Texas, Arkansas, Washington, Nebraska, and Illinois.

A 4-star prospect out of Bishop Dunne in Dallas, Texas, Beason holds 31 total offers to date. His latest cut left programs such as Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Notre Dame, TCU, Tennessee and Texas A&M on the outside looking in, just to name a few.
A versatile talent, Beason plays wide receiver and cornerback for Bishop Dunne, as well as running back. As a sophomore, he recorded upwards of 900 total yards of offense and 12 touchdowns.
The former Nebraska commit picked up his Oklahoma offer in early January and later visited for junior day in February. The home-state Longhorns currently hold all four of his Crystal Ball projections. He backed out of his pledge to the Huskers just one day after being offered by Texas, but of course, Nebraska is still firmly in the mix going forward.
At 5-foot-11, 173 pounds, Beason is ranked as the nation’s No. 104 player, No. 8 athlete and the No. 14 player in Texas, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.
