5-star commit visits Florida State for first spring practice

The future of the Florida State secondary may have been in attendance for the Seminoles’ first spring practice on Wednesday.

Five-star defensive back Akeem Dent visited FSU to watch his older brother, Adarius Dent, take part in his first practice as a Seminole, according to 247Sports.com.

Akeem Dent committed to Florida State on July 21, 2017. He has had unofficial visits with Florida Atlantic and Miami and was visited by Alabama coach Nick Saban since committing to FSU.

The 5-foot-11, 176-pound corner out of Palm Beach Central High School (Fla.) has 24 offers, including ones from Clemson, Florida and LSU.

Dent is the No. 16 overall player and No. 1 cornerback in the Class of 2019. He would be the seventh five-star defensive back to sign with FSU since 2010, joining Levonta Taylor, Derwin James, Tarvarus McFadden, Jalen Ramsey, Ronald Darby and Lamarcus Joyner.
