Zion Williamson-Kansas Jayhawks-visit-Late Night in the Phog-2018

“We want Zion.”

As 5-star small forward Zion Williamson officially visited Lawrence over the weekend for the Kansas Jayhawks ‘Late Night in the Phog’ event, the fans in attendance made it clear just how badly they covet his services.

Arguably the most explosive prospect in the nation, the Spartanburg Day School (S.C) product is unquestionably one of the few true elite talents in the 2018 class, revered for his often mind-boggling dunks and athleticism.

Williamson’s visit to Kansas marked his first official visit. He has official trips set up for Duke on Oct. 20 and UCLA on Oct. 27. Kentucky, North Carolina and Clemson are major factors in Williamson’s recruitment, as well, meaning if Bill Self hopes to secure a signature from one of the most glorified prospects in recent memory, he’ll face no shortage of competition on the recruiting trail.

Williamson holds 20 offers to date.

Prior to his senior season, the Jayhawks currently stand as the favorite for his services, owning 43 percent of his Crystal Ball projections. As a junior, Williamson poured on 37.8 points per game at an efficient rate, hitting 76 percent of his attempts. He also added 13 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.5 blocks each time out.

A 6-foot-7, 230-pound prospect, Williamson is ranked as the nation’s No. 2 player, No. 2 small forward and the No 1 player in South Carolina, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.
