We already know that NC State’s Ryan Finley is good at throwing the football. The senior threw 18 touchdowns and crested the 3,000 yard mark as a junior with the Wolfpack in 2016.
As it turns out, he is a pretty good receiver as well.
In the second quarter of the Wolfpack’s game against the Syracuse Orange, NC State decided to throw in a little trick play. They called for a reverse, with Gavin Locklear finding the ball in his hands on an end-around. The senior wide receiver saw his quarterback open on the right side and knew what to do.

It ended up being a key play as a few moments later, Jaylen Samuels found himself in the end zone as NC State opened up a 26-7 lead on Syracuse with 2:21 left before the break. For the record, it’s Finley’s first career reception, while Locklear is now 3-4 as a passer in his Wolfpack career. It’s certainly a play he’s used to executing, and he did so once more on Saturday afternoon.
