Gary Patterson likes it when TCU is underrated, but his record when people are high on his team is pretty impressive too.
The Horned Frogs are undefeated (17-0) at home when ranked in the top 10 under Patterson, according to ESPN’s Chris Low. That’s the best record in college football since 2001.

That record bodes well for TCU this week. The Frogs are ranked No. 8 in the Associated Press Top 25, and they host No. 23 West Virginia on Saturday in the only matchup between ranked teams in Week 6. TCU’s last home game as a top-10 team came in 2015 against West Virginia. The Frogs won that matchup 40-10
Another trend playing in TCU’s favor this week? ESPN College GameDay is coming to campus, and the Frogs are a perfect 5-0 when their games are featured on the show. This will be just the second time that GameDay has been on campus at TCU. The last time was a 55-28 win for the Frogs over No. 16 Utah.
|Oct. 24, 2009||No. 7 TCU at No. 16 BYU||TCU, 38-7|
|Nov. 14, 2009||No. 16 Utah at No. 4 TCU||TCU, 55-28|
|Nov. 6, 2010||No. 3 TCU at No. 5 Utah||TCU, 47-7|
|Jan. 1, 2011||No. 3 TCU vs. No. 5 Wisconsin (Rose Bowl)||TCU, 21-19|
|Nov. 1, 2014||No. 7 TCU at No. 20 West Virginia||TCU, 31-30|
TCU and West Virginia will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday. The game will be televised on FS1.
