TCU men’s basketball just about punched its ticket to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 20 years on Saturday with an 82-72 win over Baylor on home court.
And Jamie Dixon and the Horned Frogs could be playing in friendly territory to begin the 2018 edition of March Madness.
CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm had TCU as a No. 6 seed in the East as of Sunday — projected to face Providence at American Airlines Center in Dallas during the first round of the tournament. Palm had the winner of that matchup going on to face either Tennessee or Rider in the following round.
TCU has now reached the 20-win mark on the season and is 8-8 in Big 12 play. The Horned Frogs have a remaining home game on Tuesday vs. Kansas State before wrapping up the regular season at Texas Tech on Saturday. The Big 12 Championship Tournament gets underway on March 7 in Kansas City, Mo.
