Texas PF signee Jaxson Hayes named a 1st Team All-Ohio selection

Jaxson Hayes-Texas-Texas Longhorns-1st Team All Ohio

Texas Longhorns power forward signee Jaxson Hayes has been recognized as one of the top talents Ohio has to offer.

On Tuesday, Hayes was named as a 1st Team All-Ohio Selection following a stellar senior season for Cincinatti (Oh.) Archbishop Moeller.

A 3-star prospect, Hayes served as the headliner of an Archbishop Moeller squad that’s fresh off its second-straight Greater Catholic League title. In 22 games, Hayes averaged 12 points per game of a 67.3 percent clip from the field, and his 6.9 rebounds and 4 blocks per game each ranked first in the league; Hayes’ 87 total blocks were 60 more than his teammate, Jeremiah Davenport, who finished second in the league with 20 blocked shots.

Hayes also tallied 25 steals and 24 assists throughout his senior season, and furthermore, the hyper-athletic 6-foot-10 forward quite regularly put on a one-man dunk contest.

The future Longhorn joins a pair of 4-star forwards in Gerald Liddell and Kamaka Hepa, and 3-star Austin native Brock Cunningham to make up Texas’ four-man 2018 class.

Hayes is ranked as the nation’s No. 137 player, No. 33 power forward and the No. 6 player in Ohio, per the 247Sports Composite.
