Alabama finished seventh in the recruiting rankings in the 2018 class, but expect the Crimson Tide to be back on top come 2019. @ChrisKirschner Who’s the big fish that Alabama can get this cycle ?

The top 5 players in the 247Sports composite are as follows: defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux, wide receiver Jadon Haselwood, defensive end Zach Harrison, defensive tackle Ishmael Sopsher and defensive end Nolan Smith II.
Alabama needs several interior defensive linemen this season and Sopsher is the team’s top target in the 2019 class. The good news for the Crimson Tide is that Sopsher, who attends Amite (La.) High School, has been to Tuscaloosa numerous times since becoming a national recruit. He’s also a former teammate of Crimson Tide wide receiver DeVonta Smith.
Sopsher didn’t have the Tide in his original top 12 that he tweeted a few months ago, but Alabama certainly would be on the list now. He knows he’s a priority to the staff, and he has a good relationship with the coaches.
It’s still early in the recruiting process for Sopsher, but my guess is his decision comes down to Alabama and LSU. It should be noted that one of his current teammates, Devonta Lee, is a major wide receiver target for the Tide. With Alabama having Smith on board, it could be a reunion for the Amite trio if Sopsher and Lee choose the Tide. If I had to give a very early prediction, I think they do.
