Tim Miles recounts Nebraska basketball’s impressive season through KenPom predictions

Tim Miles was on the hot seat at Nebraska entering the 2017-18 season. Twenty-two wins (with the chance for more) later, it looks like Miles’ job is safe.

The Nebraska coach had some fun remembering how Nebraska’s season was projected to turn out via his Twitter page on Monday afternoon. In three tweets, Miles recounted the Nebraska season through its KenPom projections.

Miles posted a screenshot from November that showed Nebraska with a projected record of 13-16 (6-12 in the Big Ten). He joked that he told his wife, Kari, that they should hold off on remodeling their kitchen in case they had to move.

Miles posted another one from before the Huskers got into the thick of Big Ten play. That one gave Nebraska a predicted finish of 16-15. Miles joked it was time to call a realtor.

Finally, the sixth-year Nebraska head coach posted KenPom’s updated Nebraska page with the Huskers’ 22-9 mark in all its glory.

It’s been a fun few months for Miles and Nebraska fans, but the Huskers might still have some work to do to ensure an NCAA Tournament berth. Nebraska was on the wrong side of ESPN’s Bracketology as of Monday.

But if the Huskers hear their name on Selection Sunday, maybe Miles will have some fun predictions gone wrong to tweet about in two weeks.
