Derek Stingley Jr., rated by some services as the top cornerback in next year’s class, will very likely be playing his college ball in the SEC.
That’s based on the fact that five of his top 10 college choices unveiled on Friday night are SEC schools. What also makes that likely is that he’s from Baton Rouge.
Stingley is rated as the No. 2 CB and No. 18 overall prospect in the Class of 2019, according to the 247Sports composite ranking. However, Rivals has the 6-foot, 170-pound Dunham High star as the top player at his position.
In a social media post, Stingley showed LSU, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Texas A&M among his group of finalists.
