Rutgers’ 2018 recruiting class took a blow Tuesday night. EJ Turner, a 2018 wide receiver from Cartersville, Ga., decommited from Rutgers.

“Rutgers will stay in HIGH consideration, but at the moment I would like to step back and think some things over,” Turner wrote on Twitter.

A 3-star recruit, Turner initially committed to Rutgers in July. He has offers from 17 schools including Syracuse, West Virginia and Cincinnati, according to 247Sports. Turner is ranked as the No. 78 player in Georgia and No. 126 wide receiver in the 2018 class.

Without Turner, Rutgers now has 18 commits in its 2018 class. The group is currently ranked 54th in the country and 11th in the Big Ten in the 247Sports composite.
