Twitter reacts to Sam Darnold’s strong showing at USC Pro Day

The stars showed up to see former USC QB Sam Darnold participate in his Pro Day on Wednesday. Darnold threw about 60 passes in the pouring rain in Los Angeles and showed why he’s in contention to be the top overall pick in the 2018 draft.

The owner of the Cleveland Browns, Jimmy Haslem, watched Darnold’s Pro Day with his parents in the stands.

The rain started to come down just as Darnold began his passing drills. His team had hoped that it would rain to show that Darnold was capable of playing in inclement weather. Of course, the first four picks in the 2018 NFL Draft are owned by cold-weather teams that play outdoors – Cleveland (2 picks), New York Jets and New York Giants.

Darnold, who is seemingly universally loved at USC, went out of his way to thank the student managers for keeping the footballs as dry as possible.

Darnold spoke with NFL Network after his Pro Day and said he spoke with the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday. He also met with the Giants on Tuesday.

All in all, it seemed like a very positive performance for Darnold, who is expected to be one of the first players taken in the 2018 NFL Draft.
