UCLA Bruins eyeing Arizona sweep

UCLA hopes to extend its winning streak to five following a “huge” win over Arizona.

The Bruins are going for an Arizona sweep after the team upset the Wildcats in Tucson on Thursday night. UCLA is on the right side of the the tournament bubble as a result of the big-time road win.

“This is huge for us,” UCLA guard Aaron Holiday said after the Arizona, per ESPN, via the Associated Press. “We want to get into the NCAA Tournament and it’s a big win for that aspect.”

Completing the Arizona sweep won’t be easy for UCLA. Arizona State has picked up its play as of late. The Sun Devils defeated USC 80-78 this week and could reenter the top 25 with a victory over the Bruins.

Expect a high-scoring affair in Tempe. Arizona State and UCLA are the two highest scoring teams in the conference.

UCLA will once again rely heavily on Holiday. It’s imperative for the point guard to have a good game in Tempe. His matchup with Arizona State point guard Tra Holder is the key of the contest.

A win on Saturday night could catapult the Bruins into a three-way tie atop the Pac-12. Arizona host USC on Saturday night. If the Trojans defeat the Wildcats all three teams would be deadlocked at 9-4 in conference play. Who would’ve thought the Bruins would be rooting for the Trojans?
