It took less than a quarter this time for the UCLA football team to get hit with a targeting flag. On what would have been a third down stop deep in Bruin territory, defensive back Darnay Holmes was instead flagged for targeting, granting Colorado a first down and also an early exit for Holmes.

The Buffs made the most of the extra opportunity, as quarterback Steven Montez connected with Phillip Lindsay for a touchdown on the next play.
Targeting, of course, is nothing new for this UCLA team, as Holmes is the fourth UCLA defender to be ejected for targeting in the last four games.
And Darnay Holmes becomes … I’ve actually lost track of the number of UCLA defenders ejected for targeting.
