USC grad assistant Austin Clark to join Illinois staff

USC is losing graduate assistant Austin Clark.

Clark is joining Illinois staff as a defensive line coach, he announced on social media. He is replacing Mike Phair who left to join the Indianapolis Colts under the same position.

USC’s defense line could be absent of their main position coach as well. Current defensive line coach Kenechi Udeze is in the running to become the San Francisco 49ers D-line coach.

Clark might have been a candidate for USC’s defensive line job but you can’t fault him for taking the sure thing.

The former graduate assistant played college football at Cal before he decided to pursue coaching.
