AUBURN, Ala. — A lot of Auburn football fans thought Will Hastings would just be a short-yardage slot specialist in 2017. But he’s done a lot more damage with Jarrett Stidham this fall.
Hastings gave Auburn a three-score lead against Mississippi State in the second quarter with a 47-yard touchdown completion. Stidham delivered a perfect pass to Hastings, who ran completely uncovered on a post route over the middle of the field.
Hastings entered the game as the team’s No. 3 wide receiver in yards per catch with 19.09. The former walk-on kicker has a great chance of increasing that number before the night is done in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
