Former USC QB Sam Darnold is thought to be one of the top prospects available in the upcoming NFL draft. He, along with UCLA QB Josh Rosen, Wyoming QB Josh Allen and Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield are all considered potential top-10 picks.
FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd not only believes Darnold will be the top player taken in the 2018 draft, he also thinks Darnold will be one of seven QBs to dominate the next decade of football. On The Herd on Tuesday, Cowherd named seven QBs that will dominate the NFL for the next 10 years.
“In the next decade, these seven quarterbacks will dominate this league: Andrew Luck, Carson Wentz, Russell Wilson, Sam Darnold, Aaron Rodgers, Derek Carr and Jimmy Garoppolo.”
Cowherd further explained his point on Darnold, saying the former USC star will even guide the Cleveland Browns to the playoffs.
“I know you’re going crazy on Sam Darnold. I know you are. He’s going to come in here and be a playoff guy probably eight out of 10 years, even with Cleveland.”

Darnold led the Trojans to an 11-3 record this season and guided the Trojans to a Pac-12 title and a Cotton Bowl appearance. He threw for 4,143 yards, 26 TDs and 13 INTs while completing 63.1 percent of his passes in 2017.
Cowherd has been consistent in saying Darnold will be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. The Cleveland Browns hold the top pick in the draft, which begins on April 26 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
