Former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton and the media haven’t always gotten along.
The most memorable instance came after Super Bowl 50 when Newton hardly
answered any questions in his postgame press conference. Now it seems like Newton might be in hot water again.
At the 6:40
mark of this video, Newton is asked a question by Charlotte Observer Panthers beat reporter Jourdan Rodrigue.
Rodrigue: “Cam, I know you take a lot of pride in seeing your receivers play well. Devin Funchess
has really seemed to embrace the physicality of his routes and getting those extra yards. Does that give you a little bit
of enjoyment to see him kind of truck stick people out there?”
Newton: “It’s funny to hear a female talk about routes. It’s funny…”
Newton goes on to answer the question in an honest manner, but his intial reaction didn’t sit well with Rodrigue,
who responded on Twitter.
