WATCH: Former Tennessee RB Alvin Kamara is having a blast at Mardi Gras in New Orleans

Alvin Kamara- Mardi Gras- New Orleans- tennessee

New Orleans loves Alvin Kamara, and it’s clear he loves the city right back.

The former Tennessee running back is killing it at his first Mardi Gras celebration in the city. Saturday he rode in the Endymion parade, widely known as one of the largest in the city during its annual two-week celebration.

The route traditionally winds through the Mid-City area before ending at the Superdome downtown. It appears multiple people were able to take selfies with Kamara and he also threw beads and airheads off his float.

The photo below posted by ESPN’s Darren Rovell became the viral photo of the day. Kamara enjoyed some boxed wine while parading through the city.

Kamara even got off his float to interact with fans, a move the celebrity riders rarely do during the parades for safety reasons.

β€œThere’s a lot of love here,” Kamara told Ben Baskin of Sports Illustrated. β€œThere’s a feel-good vibe [in this city].”

As the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Kamara ran for 728 yards on 120 carries with 8 touchdowns. He added another 5 touchdowns on 826 yards receiving with 81 catches.

The Saints have him locked up for four years and nearly $4 million according to Nick Underhill of the New Orleans Advocate.Β
