West Coast Conference hires Gloria Nevarez as commissioner

Senior associate commissioner Gloria Nevarez is leaving the Pac-12.

Nevarez has accepted a job to become commissioner of the West Coast Conference, per Jon Wilner of the Bay Area News Group.

Lynn Holzman previously held the position before being hired to become the NCAA vice president of women’s basketball.

Nevarez had been the senior associate commissioner at the Pac-12 since 2010. She oversaw all sport championships except for football and she was also the PAC-12 liaison for basketball.

Prior to joining the Pac-12 she was a senior associate athletic director at Oklahoma.
