The Sweet 16-bound basketball team from West Virginia will waste little time arriving in Boston for Thursday’s game against Villanova.
The school has announced it will depart Tuesday for the game against the No. 1 seed Wildcats, according to the Associated Press.
The National Weather Service has predicted that most of the snow and sleet expected to hit the Atlantic Seaboard will be on Wednesday. It then is expected to hit Massachusetts early Thursday.
It’s a veteran coaching move by Coach Bob Huggins to get his team into the city a day early. He should have no problem arranging for a practice gymnasium because of the many colleges in the Boston area, as well as perhaps utilizing the TD Garden.
